Mental Illness My issues including psychotic depression, moderate depression and moderate anxiety disorder are caused by seeing too many dead bodies, dealing with people who want to kill themselves and variations of the above.
STAR WARS Firstly the vintage Star Wars collecting universe is full of absolute idiots. They are basically communists who have never done a calculation or ever met anybody who has made one in their life. I'd pity them if I had the time or the inclination. The good ones, may the force be with you, the communists get ready for the sarlac. Anybody who disagrees you know where to find me.

Vintage Star Wars Collecting for The Force Awakens

This section of my Blog is About Star Wars Figure Collecting 1977/6 - 1985 First I must give my opinion on The Force Awakens This was a triumph of Star Wars mastery bringing generations of Star Wars Fans together. I enjoyed it, my wife enjoyed it ,my 5 year old son sat transfixed for over 2 hours. The force has truly been awakened in the old and the young. One of the best films, if not the best films of the 21st century. Now For the Serious Business 1977 - 1985 Star Wars figure collecting. My background: I have been a Star Wars addict since I was 4 years old. I am Now 43. Yoda, Chewie, Luke call me what you wish however I am more experienced about Star Wars collecting and know more than the whole internet combined. Only a lol however what I am saying is that my opinion counts. I have an loose SW (Star Wars and 1977-1985 Science Fiction) figure collection of nearly 600 figures and have a carded collection and have AFA/UKG figures. I know a lot, I am not an internet bullshitter, not a Palitoy/Kenner/ employee or anybody who has a vested interest employee. I will lightsaber fight anybody the the death, or argue like hell with anybody who dares defy me. Collecting: In My mind collecting Star Wars figures is for you and you only. If you enjoy your collection and it makes you feel good then that is what it is all about. There are many naysayers that don't enjoy repro weapons, figures, bubbles or anything else which may enhance the collecting universe. My view is always with informed education, you must be well informed, know which questions to ask, not pay big money until you are sure. Examples of bad SW vintage buying: 1 Impulse buying a vintage SW item without checking the market place. Example: You want a vintage 1977 Solid dome R2D2, You see a 1 picture Item on eBay and the seller has 2 feedback. Negative, look for the guy who will look after you. 10+ feedback is good, loads of pictures 3+ is better, eBay will normally give you your money back but look out. Ask questions if in doubt. 2 Facebook is a great way to purchase cheap items. Fraught with danger though. I have been okay so far, join respected communities and deal with persons with a reputation, check http://forum.rebelscum.com/ or http://www.imperialgunnery.com/jointhetigforum.htm or ebay reputation. If the guy has no rep on these sites NO DEAL. No joke email me if in doubt I WILL help. 3 Now this is not a hard and fast rule, however for the uninitiated you get what you pay for. So a guy on EBay with 1000 feedback has the item, you may have to pay a premium for it but it will arrive in good order. Bargain shopping is a tricky business, FB / auctions on eBay is the way but use the sites above to do your research. REPRO WEAPONS Personally I like them, easy to tell from their real counterparts and nobody will ever know (other than some crazy internet guy in America). If you want the real deal again: http://www.imperialgunnery.com/jointhetigforum.htm will identify most weapons and accessories for you. Homework is the key. I personally don't use repros however feel free to complete your vintage figure for a fraction of the price. Only noobs will moan. Repro Cards/Bubbles General Rule: If it looks too good to be true it often is too good to be true. Again if it is big money don't part with it until you have consulted either me or the above sites. In my eyes ebay is a good barometer, there is generally a similar item or the same item for sale on ebay. If you have an item not for sale on ebay you either have a world beater or a bag of poo. Poo is always favorite, again the references above IG(Imperial Gunnery), RS (Rebel Scum) or Facebook communities (too many to mention but give me a shout if you need help). Variants/ Variant Figures This is all about the same figure with a Different COO (Country of Origin) or other different distinguishing marks. So for example you can have a 1977 Luke Skywalker Farmboy figure with a Hong Kong COO, Tiawan COO, China COO or no COO. Each figure has varying prices on the market. (The COO can be found on the back of the leg of each figure, if you have to look to the base of the feet check the Noobs section!) Complete Figures If you have a figure with it's original weapon it is massively increased in value from it's naked partner, as with capes and other accessories. This is where Repro weapons come in to their own, a repro weapon will fetch £1.50 - £3.00 however an original weapon will fetch £20+; sometimes the weapon is worth more than the figure: Try buying an Han Carbonite and find out 1985. Cardbacks My knowledge of cards and cardbacks is limited, there are many greater experts than me. My advice again is to look for the guys with the big knowledge and feedback and DO YOUR RESEARCH! Impulse is your enemy, test and test again. Baggies Super expert stuff, if it has the word Kenner on it and the photos look good for less than £20 take a punt, otherwise experts only. Dark art to most. Vehicles Boxed, complete is the best, there are Cool boxes(Lili Ledy, Les guerres des les Etolies, etc) and the RORJ Kenner boxes. All boxes for the vintage vehicles are cool and worth money. Unboxed vehicles in my mind are the coolest. Firstly you have to spot the complete and incomplete items. Again the basics are has your vintage Millenium Falcon got the Radar Dish and the Gun Turret? Has your Dewback/Tauntaun got his reigns or saddle, have the reigns snapped or are they in shape. COO/YOO Okay so each Figure/Playset has its own COO (Country of Origin) or YOO (Year of Origin) You may need a magnifying glass for this however underneath each ship or on the back of the leg of each vintage figure is the YOO/COO. Check this as it is your guarantee of the figure. I have been collecting since I was a small boy - My main inspiration for collecting being the first Star Wars film in 1977. I have always collected loose figures and for a young kid looked after them well, managing to stop their weapons going up in the vacum cleaner. I kept the Star Wars collection into adulthood and have revisited it many times over the years to top up! As a child I also had a fantastic corgi, Matchbox and Dinky collection which I shared with my brother. These well worn vehicles were an endless source of joy in the days before computer games! Unfortunately this collection was lost to the local jumble sale however I remember well the items I played with and seek them out for my shop whenever I come across them. All of my listings mean something to me and I only hope my customers can get the same joy from the toys and memorabilia I continue to have. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions about the toys and collectables I have on display. A word about the psychology of adult collecting: Many of you may not be aware the reason you collect. Indulge me for a minute if you will. Our lives now are packed with stress, deadlines, angry customers, everybody wants everything now, cheaper, faster, better quality and if you can't do it they will find somebody that will!!! The pace of modern life makes us yearn for a simpler time, an easier carefree time a time when there was no money, deadlines, angry bosses, irate customers.......... that time is of course our childhood! Whilst we haven't invented the time machine, I like to think I offer the next best thing, the toys from our childhood. Just holding playing with remembering that toy and the joy it brought you as a child winds the clock back and sets you free. My items are a time machine in themselves, stress relief from the modern world. Imagine the thrill that next parcel will bring................ ;)

I'm now selling vintage toys such as Star Wars, Star Trek, Dinky, Corgi, Matchbox to name but a few. Today's post is about TIG - The Imperial Gunnery. Basically I bought a carded Star Wars figure from there, I then discovered that it was a re-seal. I asked for a refund and prompptly got banned from the site. What a complete bunch of idiots. Don't go there don't do business there.
